My friend is a refugee
He just wants to be
Just like me
A normal kid
Playing in the park
No hassle from ignorant people
Because he has a different culture
He’s being called names,
They say he smells and that he’s poor.

But my friend turned around
Picked himself of the ground
And told them
“Put yourself in my shoes and think”
How it was for me to get here.
I don’t get the treatment you get.
I just want to forget what happened
And give you another chance.
