In Our Shoes

Writing The Refugee Experience
A
dynamic performance at the Brady Arts Centre on March 25th 2004 by
young people from 6 secondary schools in Tower Hamlets performing
their own Poetry and Rap alongside professional artists Organised
by Maggie Crosbie and Kate Tull.
Maggie
Crosbie was the co-ordinator of In Our Shoes. This is what she had
to say about the project:
"I
worked for many years in the health services, before changing direction
and studying a Drama and Theatre Arts Degree at Goldsmith’s College.
From there I went to work at the theatre company Tara Arts and then
moved into literature development and have been working at Eastside
Arts for four years. In Our Shoes demonstrated my approach to working
with young people: engaging, enthusing, challenging and giving them
a voice".
