The
Stonewall riots in 1969, was the landmark in the modern gay rights
movement; a few nights of rioting at the Stonewall Inn in New
York sent shockwaves around the world and initiated the modern
gay community and gay activism as we know it.
In
the UK, it was not possible in the past, for legal reasons, to
publicly show that you were gay, because of this a lot of the
history of what was the LGBT sub-culture has never been fully
reported.

Left was a collective of gay men in London UK which,
between 1975 and 1980, published ten issues of a socialist journal
examining the links between socialism and gay liberation. Click

House of Homosexual Culture is a new project for
gay Londoners to discover, discuss and enjoy their gay cultural
heritage. It's a chance to meet, exchange ideas and be inspired
through talks, performances, private screenings, visits to houses
and museums.

This museum project aims to safeguard queer history and record the
lives and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
people. It is an important educational resource, contributing to
public awaremess and helping to undermine ignorance and prejudice.
